Major weed of pastures across Australia and a declared noxious weed in most states. it has been responsible for many horse fatalities in recent years and may come to dominate drought stricken, overgrazed or otherwise degraded pastures. Not very palatable it will be grazed by horses when little other forage is available. It contains Pyrrolizidine Alkaloid toxins which cause death of liver cells.
